Caron Wildflowers is a single-strand cotton thread dyed in the same shades as Caron Watercolours, but with a matte finish and a softer texture. It falls between #8 and #12 Perle cotton in thickness.

Unlike Watercolours, which has a shiny texture, Wildflowers resembles fine wool and creates a matte effect in embroidery. Due to its versatility, this thread can be used on a variety of fabrics and canvases, including Hardanger, lacework, and tatting.

How to Use Caron Wildflowers?

Important Tips:

Cutting the thread: If you cut the skein at the knot, you will get all one-yard (91 cm) lengths.

Tweedy effect: Since Wildflowers is a single-strand cotton, using multiple strands at once may result in color mismatches, creating an interesting tweedy effect.

Color variation: Even though the same dye formulas are used, Watercolours and Wildflowers may appear different due to their different fiber structures.
